DNA Health and Wellness Reports

Dear Practitioner,

As a Naturopath, one of the areas I'm focusing on strongly is genetics and to that end, I'm partnering with SelfDecode in the US to provide 'DNA Health & Wellness Reports' which identify genetic strengths and weaknesses indicated by standard SNP genotype tests. There are 10 of these reports in total, covering different body systems or specific areas of interest, such as cardio, cognitive, mood, sleep, methylation, etc. See FAQ below for more details and examples.

SelfDecode offers these reports at $93 for first (all NZ dollars), with additional reports at $46, or $456 for all ten. There is an Introductory Report that is included for free with any Report purchase.

If you have a genotype test from any of the following, then I can run reports for you - 23AndMe, Ancestry, Courtagen, Family Tree, My Heritage, Atlas, Map My Genome, Diagnomics, Genes For Good, DNA.Land, Illumina, Genos (Version 1), Genos (Version 2), Living DNA, and iGene. If you haven't got a genotype test yet, the cheapest and recommended tests are 23andMe.com at US$99, or Ancestry.com.au at AUS$129. These tests are available in most western countries.

I don't imagine most practitioners will want to invest the time and money into providing these specialist DNA reporting services, so I'll be providing a Wholesale and Reseller facility for any practitioners who would like to provide a comprehensive, but very affordable genotype health analysis to their clients.

• Wholesale is where I deal with you at a wholesale rate, and you markup the Reports to your client.

• Resale is where you provide a link to the DNA Reports website at retail prices (more generic than this one) and I pay you a 30% commission on sales.

These reports will help identify genetic risks and provide evidence-based, diet and lifestyle recommendations (See FAQ below for examples). Naturopaths will probably modify those recommendations in light of the client's clinical presentation, as their current symptoms and existing diet and lifestyle choices are probably of far greater importance to their health and wellbeing. My view is that these reports can be used to empower and motivate the client using slightly negative or positive considerations as indicated. They can be another useful clinical tool in your professional practice.
