Privacy Policy

Latimer Clark Naturopath respects your privacy and handles personal and health information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.

Information I collect

When you make an enquiry, book a consultation or become a client, I may collect information including your:

  • name and contact details
  • appointment and billing information
  • health history, symptoms, medications and supplements
  • test results and other clinical information
  • consultation notes, correspondence and treatment recommendations.

I collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide naturopathic and nutritional services. Wherever practical, health information is collected directly from you. Information may also be obtained from another practitioner, laboratory or other source where you have authorised this or where otherwise permitted by law. The Privacy Commissioner emphasises both purpose and openness when health information is collected.

How your information is used

Your information may be used to:

  • assess your health concerns and provide consultations
  • communicate with you about appointments and your care
  • maintain appropriate clinical records
  • arrange or interpret investigations where appropriate
  • prepare recommendations, reports and follow-up information
  • manage billing and the administration of the practice.

I will not disclose identifiable health information for unrelated purposes unless you authorise this or disclosure is permitted or required by law.

Cliniko

I use Cliniko for practice management, including online bookings, client details, appointments and clinical records. Cliniko acts as a service provider for the practice and provides security measures for protecting confidential client information. Cliniko states that customers retain ownership of their data and provides safeguards for stored patient information.

Website analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, connected through Google Site Kit, to understand how people use the website. Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to collect website usage information. This information is used to understand website traffic and improve the site; it is not intended to form part of your clinical record. Google Site Kit notes that site owners remain responsible for providing appropriate privacy information about Analytics use.

Storage and security

Reasonable safeguards are used to protect personal and health information against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure, as required by the Health Information Privacy Code.

Health records are retained for at least the period required by New Zealand law. The Health (Retention of Health Information) Regulations 1996 generally require identifiable health information to be retained for at least 10 years following the most recent date on which services were provided.

Accessing or correcting your information

You may ask to see the personal or health information I hold about you and may request correction if you believe it is inaccurate.
